Searching for Soul
Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants. ~Epictetus
If I accept you as you are, I will make you worse; however, if I treat you as though you are what you are capable of becoming, I help you become that. ~Goethe
To be a philosopher is not merely to have subtle thoughts, nor even to found a school, but so to love wisdom as to live according to its dictates, a life of simplicity, independence, magnanimity, and trust. ~ Henry David Thoreau "Walden"
Before the beginning of great brilliance and beauty there first must be a period of complete chaos. ~I-Ching

How vain it is to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live. ~Henry David Thoreau
Simplicity is the final achievement. After one has played a vast quantity of notes and more notes, it is simplicity that emerges as the crowning reward of art.
~Frederic Chopin

Gourds
Today I planted gourd seeds (large bottleneck) and watered them in good. Seedlings should emerge in 7-10 days! and by the beginning of September, should have a good harvest if all goes well!

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog,
conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone,
comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations,
analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal,
fight efficiently and die gallantly.
Specialization is for insects."

2011
Hello much neglected blogosphere! I am back, and I got a new laptop, so I am here to stay. Yes, I finally have my very own computer. It's mine, all mine; just mine. I think it is the only item in my home I can truly call my very own (other than clothes and personal items)! You know, something I don't have to share. I really don't know how to act and keep waiting for someone to take it away from me.... so far, nothing:)
